Getting Ready for Mac Ruby on Rails

Here is the list of things to do on the Mac to get ready:

- From the Mac App Store, install XCode.  (Yes, it takes a long time to download and install.  It's free.)  You will need to be root to install it.

- Download and install iTerm2 (http://code.google.com/p/iterm2/downloads/list)

- Install one or more of the following editors:
  - Emacs (http://www.emacsformacosx.com/), MacVim (https://code.google.com/p/macvim/), or Sublime Text (http://www.sublimetext.com/2)

- Install Homebrew. http://mxcl.github.com/homebrew/

- In Homebrew, "brew install readline postgresql".  This will install the PostgreSQL client and server.

- In your home directory, and as your own user, install RVM (http://rvm.io/).  Make sure that the "rvm list all" alias now works from a new shell.

- Using RVM, install Ruby 1.9.3 ("rvm install 1.9.3")

- Then install the gems for Rails and PostgreSQL (gem install rails pg -V)

- Create a github account

That *should* do it, I think!
